About
Regular people, sharing what they cook — on the fediverse.
What this is
Blog Your Food is a social network for regular people who cook. You share what you made — a photo, a note, the recipe if you wrote one down — and over time it becomes a record of your kitchen: accomplishments worth a little pride, memories of meals worth keeping.
It's also where you see what everyone else is making — not influencers, just other home cooks, which is where the inspiration and the new skills actually come from. Nothing here is sponsored and nobody is selling a lifestyle; we built it to be beautiful so that regular cooks' voices carry. Dinner on a Tuesday counts.
Sharing is optional: set to “only me”, it works as a private food diary.
On the fediverse
Blog Your Food speaks ActivityPub, the open protocol behind Mastodon, Threads, and Pixelfed. Your account here is a real fediverse account — a handle like @[email protected] that anyone on any of those apps can search for and follow. Each cook you share lands in their home feed; they never need an account here.
It works the other way too: follow cooks on other servers from inside the app and their posts join your feed.
Every cook has a visibility you choose — public, followers only, or only me.
The people behind it
Blog Your Food is made by Andrew Chase. After working for 8 years at Meta Andrew has a lot of ideas about social networks and this project is an opportunity for him to experiment and realize a product that he's thought about for a long time.

What's next
- BoostsWhen someone on Mastodon boosts a cook, it will show up here on the cook itself.
- Sign in with AppleComing with the move to our permanent home on the web.
- Establish a proper URL and publish a v0 into the worldAt some point this needs to move into some sort of private beta with more than just Andrew using it.
No streaks, no badges, no ads — that part is not on the roadmap and won't be.
